Yesterday I discovered in this article that Mindfulness teacher for kids is a thing.
Today I found out there is such a thing as a school's Dream director.
This is definitely the world I want to live in.
These days it seems like every other day I find something new I want to do, or be.
Someday I'll be all those things and more.
I want to be an educator, a guide, a dream director, a mindfulness teacher, and so much more.
I imagine a kid, born in a world where his hapiness
Because the truth is the teacher is the last person a smart kid needs. If you raise him to be self-confident, autonomous and curious, if you give him the right tools early on and show him how to use them, he'll be his own teacher. This doesn't mean he won't need inspiration, guides, people to look up to and learn from, but he'll be the one to choose them, ask for them, go look for them, instead of being forced to choose what he's gonna learn, who he's gonna become.
I see a school
Rach I'm so going to India with you!

There are as many realities as there are minds to perceive it.
This TEDx Talk gave me an amazing insight on how different the world can be outside of my own head, or more accurately, inside of someone else's head.
It's an amazing lesson on respect and Jonathan Chase spells it out perfectly so I'll just quote the end of the video :
"[...] While you all shared the same experience, everyone has a unique perspective and you can't always see it from the outside. We have a lot of work to do in supporting those who are different and see the world differently. The first step is to recognize the differences between their view and ours; the next step is to respect those differences. We can all take these first 2 steps [...] today."
Every time you disagree with someone or you don't understand the way they act/react/go about something, even if you are 100% sure that you are looking at the same thing, remember that you might simply be looking at it differently. Stop trying to figure out who is right or wrong and accept that you can both be right (or wrong actually).
We spend an awful lot of time trying to prove that we are right and/or proving others wrong (it's actually our mind/ego's way of existing) but the truth is, life would be a lot easier if we just let it go from time to time.
I see life a certain way, you see life another way, and life is something else entirely anyway...

Daily routine
A little while ago I read about gratitude and its benefits and I started expressing it.
In the end just Be positive.
I have always known I'm priviledged; I have a lucky star and the bumps in the road are nothing compared to all the good stuff that happened along the way.
But knowing your luck and expressing gratitude are two completely different things and when I started expressing it I started aknowledging everything around me. From the biggest to the tiniest. From "I'm grateful that I was born in my time and place" to "I'm grateful it stopped raining just as I had to step out".
At some point I started a daily routine of expressing gratitude as soon as I woke up. Starting your day by finding things that you're grateful for makes you realize that there is ALWAYS something to be grateful for. "I'm grateful I'm healthy" You feel sick? "I'm grateful for the sunny weather" It's raining? "I'm grateful I have a house/car/umbrella, whatever protects me from the rain". Well, you see my point.
A little while later I discovered the Go-Kai-No-Sho, the 5 Reiki principles and started using them as my daily routine. There are various versions of it but it goes something like that :
- Today and just for today, no anger.
- Today and just for today, no stress.
- Today and just for today, be grateful for all blessings.
- Today and just for today, work honestly.
- Today and just for today, be kind to all living being.
After a while I realized I had rephrased it and put it in a certain order because I was going from the less positive to the most positive. I love ending up with the gratitude because it is a great way to start the day. I also realized I didn't really like the "no anger" and "no stress" part because it has a negative side. I don't want to not be something, I want to be.
So here goes the latest version of my daily routine :
Todays and just today, I am present and centered.
Today and just today, I am authentic and humble.
Today and just today, I act with integrity and work honestly.
Today and just today, I act with integrity and work honestly.
Today and just today, I am loving and compassionate.
Today and just today, I am grateful and thankful for Life.
I think if you are present and centered you cannot feel stressed, because anxiety is in the future. And if you are really loving and compassionate you cannot feel anger because you know people causing you pain or trouble do it out of fear and/or pain. I'm not saying I'm there yet, but I'm on my way.
I don't say it word for word like a prayer, it's just five points I try to assess one after the other at the start of my day (or later on if I forget in the morning!).
I kept the "today and just today" because I like the fact that you stay in the moment, you don't make unrealistic promises to be perfect forever, you just try to be your best today.
I can't recommend enough to try and do something similar. Don't take my words and use them as they are. Try to find who and what YOU want to be, the direction you want your day and your life to take. Make it simple and just start your day by remembering that. You cannot imagine the changes it's gonna make in your life.
In the end just Be positive.
Live, Love, Laugh, Learn. Be yourself and do your best.

Stay young and invincible
A friend that has been staying with me these past few weeks kept telling me "you're a kid!" every time I did something fun/stupid/out of the ordinary.
I get a lot of "you're crazy/funny/original/something" whatever enhances the fact that I'm not your regular 30 year old. I actually like people calling me crazy. I mean, when I look at "serious" people's life I do want to be as crazy as can be.
But "you're a kid" was new and felt right. If it means being candide, innocent, carefree and looking at life in amazement, hell yeah I want to be a kid! Trying hard to be one actually.
Finding my way back to my true nature and my inner child is all I've been trying to do lately. It's all anyone on the path of awakening is trying to do I think. Unlearning and getting rid of tons of things, getting detached, simplifying everything.
I wish I could forget everything I know about things and people and get rid of my judgement and comparisons. I'd like to look at everything as if it's the first time I'm laying eyes on it. I want to feel instead of thinking, I want to be true and authentic instead of reacting to my conditioning (call that education if you will).
Kids know how to be free and happy before we teach them to be and act as they're told, to be like everyone else.
Picasso said it perfectly "It took me 4 years to paint like Raphael, but a lifetime to paint like a child."
Be crazy, be childish, be yourself, be happy.

Right Here, Right Now
Letter to a friend.
Don't wait for tomorrow, it will never come. There's only Now.
Live. Love. Laugh.
Life is perfect.
Life is perfect.
If what you need is a friend that feels sorry for you, pardon me but I'm not that friend.
I am your friend and I love you but I won't feed the vicious circle of self pity.
I was caught in it for way too long and I'm not going back there.
I am a hopeless optimistic, always have been.
It made it actually worse when I was feeling down because I kept thinking it would get better and when it didn't it crushed me.
The thing is, it didn't get better because it never would.
Life doesn't change, it's your perception of it that does.
So when I finally felt better, things hadn't actually changed, I had changed.
Life is never good nor bad, it just IS and you feel good or bad about it, but it's only a perception.
You can choose to look at it one way or the other. You can go through the exact same experience at two different times in your life and be happy about it the first time and angry or sad the next.
So I'll say it again.
Life is perfect.
This exact moment is perfect because it is as it is, and it couldn't be any other way.
If my being happy makes you angry or sad I'm sorry, but I won't stop being happy because of it.
I won't sacrifice my happiness to make you feel better. Not anymore.
I used to do that a lot, sacrificing my happiness trying to please people. But it never made anyone happy and I was definitely not either.
I realized I can't make anyone happy, only they can. And nobody but me can make me happy.
So there I am, happy.
I love you, no matter what you think of me right now and how you see me.
Never doubt for one second that if you need me I'll be there.
But I am going to stop trying to reach out to you because I can't make you come to me. I can't be next to you through your hard times unless you want me to.
So I am here, with open arms and open heart, and I'm not going anywhere.
If you need to talk I'll listen, if you need to cry I'll hold you.
But do know that I'll probably say something along the lines of :
"Everything will be ok in the end. If it's not okay, it's not the end".
Life is perfect. Embrace it.

Ahimsa
I wrote this text on january 8, my heart exploding with sadness and my head exploding with shame and guilt after the atrocious murders at Charlie Hebdo. I wrote because I needed to, it's my way of coping with things. It wasn't meant to be shared and I hadn't read it since. But when I came across it today I felt like it belonged here.
I am a citizen of the world, I don't live in France anymore but I was born and raised in France, it is still one of my homes and I cannot pretend not to be concerned by what's happening around me.
More than ever I want to spread Love, tolerance, understanding, forgiveness, non-violence.
What happened is horryfying, but we mustn't let violence into our hearts, we mustn't blame, hate, point fingers. We have to Love, and Love more.
We are Charlie but we are also the Kouachi brothers. By our unconsciousness, our unwillingness to see what happens all over the world, our blindness, we are enabling violence.
We might not be directly killing people but we are letting them die. We must start taking responsibility for our actions and our non-actions.
Thousands of people died on january 7, not 12.
The fact is we are lucky. We are lucky because 12 dead is the most deadly attack we had in fifty years. A lot of countries see their population decrease by the hundred every day and it is not less horrfic just because it happens outside of our frontiers. I am not minimizing what happened. IT IS horrific. But horror is everywhere, all the time. And it has to stop. We have to stop looking for culprits and punishing them. Violence is NEVER a solution. Violence is for the weak. We have to heal. Heal society, heal the world, heal ourselves. We have to open our eyes, our hearts, and our conscience. We have to heal the world. We have to wake up. Something like this should never happen again in our "pays des droits de l'homme" but it should never happen again. Ever. Nowhere.
Nothing justifies killing. Not a caricature in a magazine, not even another killing. We have to chose Love over violence, Love over vengeance, Love over blame, Love over pride, Love over grief, Love over power.
We have to EDUCATE populations. The weapons we need are words, pens, thoughts, books and LOVE. Children must learn that differences make the world richer, that my neighbour's truth doesn't hurt my truth.
We need to turn to ourselves, learn to know who we are.
If you know who you are, nobody can hurt you, and a drawing won't shatter your beliefs.
If you know who you are, you don't mind your neighbour being who he is.
If you know who you are, nobody is your master and nobody (not a dictator nor a "god") can make you do anything, make you kill anyone.
We should never do anything in the name of anyone else.
We need to take responsibility for our actions. Everyone is responsible for themselves. Stop hiding behind religion, patriotism, or whatnot; you are the one holding the gun and pulling the trigger. Take responsibility and let go of the gun. Nobody but you is forcing you. Change yourself and the world will change. YOU ARE IN CONTROL. THE POWER IS IN YOUR HANDS.

In my wicked head
***(english below)***

I am reading previous blogs and it's like going through previous lives.
It's funny how it shows you the "big picture". I can see clearly the tough periods and the happy ones follow one another.
Some bits are kinda dark, some real naive, a few are funny, and most are unskilful. I try not to judge, not to delete anything. After all, who I am today is the result of all the previous "I".
In retrospect I can see how each and every experience I went through is part of me and lead me where I am today.
I am thankful for every last bit of it. Even the hardest times, because pain brought me further. When you're comfortable you never wanna move. But I wasn't comfortable, so I kept moving. And I lived fully. I travelled, tried, failed, loved, got hurt, cried, laughed, and learned. A lot.
Life is perfect, never lose hope.

Ne plus AVOIR pour mieux ETRE
*****English below *****
Love and Light.

No longer HAVING in order to BE
Today is the first day of the rest of my lfe, the first day of a new life. And so was every day for the past 31 years.
I live on an island, in a city. I have a job, belongings, obligations, desires, friends. Little by little I let go of all that, all I HAVE, to BE, to LIVE. As simply and fully as possible.
Not owning anything but living, experiencing everything. Being interested in everything but getting attached to none, and move forward. Let life flow and guide me. Let every person, thing, event on my way be my guide, my master in that moment. Then leaving it behind and move forward. Learning over teaching, giving over owning. Going forward freeing myself of everything. Objects, attachments, limiting beliefs.
Few months ago I left my house for a boat, left my full time job for a part time, left my old self for a new one. I keep on shedding my skin, changing life. It can be subtle or radical but it's constant. Every moment i change and a new me is being born.
In 4 months once again I'll let go of life as I know it and embrace a new one. But changes don't happen over night and this one has already started. I want to leave with almost nothing. As long as I have my head and legs it's a good start. (The -not so long- list of what I'll bring with me will probably be the object of another post)
Starting today I sell or give away (almost) everything I own. My homeboat turns into a junk shop, and is itself being sold. Most of the things will be given away.
It's rather simple : Come meet me, have a chat, drink a tea, and if you like something I own it's yours. If it's still useful to me before I leave (like this computer I'm writing on right now) I'll keep it aside for you. I wont set prices (except for a rare few things). You're the one to decide what it's worth to you. I trust life and people, and I know that giving is receiving. May it be a shared moment, story or meal, a skill transmitted, or money. I don't need anything, I meet my own needs and in the life that's coming I'll adapt. I take what life gives me. "When life gives you lemon, make lemonade"
If you are in New Caledonia and want to come see me and what I give away contact me through mail (noemeye at live dot fr).
Life is perfect.
Love and light.

Sideration

« It's really weird this sensation of paralysis. The feeling of not even knowing if you're sending the right message to your muscle because absolutely nothing is happening. It drives you mad a little...
The sensation of being trying to lift a limb telepathically. Maximum concentration, I put all of my strength in it, and nothing moves. So I guess I'm not sending the right message. But how do I send it otherwise?? I never had to ask my leg to lift itself, it has always done so on its own.
This feeling is weird, unpleasant and discouraging. It drives you mad a little...
And then this sensation that the muscle is in control, not the mind or the will. Like a lazy pupil who knows how to do but does as he pleases, and mostly not when asked for it. This feeling that the body controls the mind, and not the opposite. This too drives you mad, a little.
And the pain that comes as a reward: if it hurts it means it's moving, something is happening. My effort is validated only if rewarded by pain. Isn't it mad, a little?
Fortunately after a while, after an incalculable number of attempts and efforts, it moves, it responds. The sensation of having finally gotten through to this pupil that had been turning a deaf ear. It makes you happy, a lot.
And even 1 success out of 20 attempts, even a flickering movement, a hint of what you wanted to achieve is a huge satisfaction. A smile that comes to replace the grimace of effort. And for that hint, thanks to that hint, you get through the 19 first attempts.»
When I wrote this article in august 2010 I was fighting a "sideration" (transitory traumatic paralysis) following a knee surgery.
It's a fight I won rather quickly in the end, but reading this text again today I realize it's a metaphor (an unintentionnal one) of the fight between my consciousness and my mind.
Fight that had been going on forever, that I started winning only recently and that will probably never really end.

Don't worry, Be happy
*****(en français plus bas)*****
Best advice there is out there :
Don't worry
&
Be happy
Songs are often full of wisdom. We take them as entertainment but they can be really helpfull and enlightening.
For me this one is all about fun.
Don't take things too serioulsly.
Don't take YOURSELF too seriously.
Life is fun, just have a little fun guys.
The key to happiness is chosing to be happy, about anything and everything.
Smile, laugh, giggle, whatever.
Let the sunshine in!
**********
Souriez, riez, rigolez, peu importe.
Laissez entrer le soleil!

I created this blog a couple months ago to try and organize my thoughts. I didn't share it because I couldn't make it as coherent as I wanted it to be. But nothing that has been happening to me this past year is coherent. Life is not coherent.

This blog will never be what I want it to be because I have no idea what I want it to be. It is what it is, no matter what I want. And I understood that the making, the creative process is interesting in itself. The hesitations, the change, the evolution.
I have no idea what I'll share. Raw thoughts, quotes, photos, projects... I don't know. And even if I knew, if I decided to do it a certain way, it would probably change 50 times a week. So no plan, no red line, no expectation. Just shared instant thoughts, insta-life.
I try to write and live in the same way : Free.

Inspiration
Every person I ever met helped me become who I am today.
Some through pain, some through love, some through laugh, some more than others, some mindfully, some without knowing it, some in person, some through their work/writing/blogging, some I remember, most I don't...
I don't always agree with what I hear or read, and I've learned as much -if not more- from people that I don't agree with, that make me question myself and help me build my reasonning, beliefs, and art of life in contrast of theirs. I'm a result of who/what I try not to be as much as who/what I try to be.
Here is a list (in progress) of some of the people/blogs that inspire me :
- Dimitri. I can't say enough how thankful I am to have him as a friend.
- Kirilly. My "Little sister", she has so much love and wisdom to share..
- Anand. Again, so much wisdom and love to share. My stay in Vedic Valley helped me find myself.
- Sofia. Helped me reconcile with my feminity, accept how strong and vulnerable we all are.
- Janice. I somehow see myself in her and I wish I grow to be someone as independant, true and fulfilled as she is.

Stop waiting
People wait
all week for friday,
all year for summer,
all life for happiness...
I travel,
I Live. NOW
********

Work in progress

It's rather complicated and frustrating for me not to write down here every thought that crosses my mind. I'm experiencing a very intense time right now, I eat up my books, I write a lot in my notebooks, my interactions with people are very Enriching, I feel like I understand and I connect a billion new things, and I want to share all that. But I don't want to throw it out there like that. I want to take the time to digest and organize my thoughts. So I wait patiently, I wait for my mind to calm down and clear itself.
Just to say that I have a ton of article ideas and drafts but I wait for them to grow before I share them.
